As if that wasn’t enough, if you use the ModCloth app, you can get item recommendations based on your size which can be super helpful when browsing through their massive catalog. Not wanting to download another app? ModCloth has in-house stylists that will help you shop the site – they can help you find items based on your size and/or  ...

Fatshion: Birthday Looks

Hey friends! I’m now officially 35! I spent my birthday half in the desert and half in the mountains (all in one day) thanks to a trip to Palm Springs that I mentioned in this post. My friend and I took this aerial tram in Palm Springs that took you up like 6000 ft or something and dropped you off at this national park on top of a mountain. The actual tram ride was INTENSE (the floor rotated, which was weird and disorienting). I’m glad I experienced it but I’m not sure I would do it again. The national park was beautiful though – definitely worth it. This year has  ...

Fatshion: Palm Springs Looks

Hey friends. How are you all holding up? This is a tough time for the US (not that this is new but still). The alt-right fascist push-back we get from any progress we make is disgusting but not surprising. As non-black folks, especially for white folks, we must do the work to combat white supremacy. Please don’t be a bystander. The safety of our community is at stake. Also please don’t expect ally cookies for your work – white people, it is your responsibility, as a privileged group that benefits from white supremacy, to work hard to dismantle it, with or without the  ...

If you use the ModCloth mobile app, you can use their Fit for Me feature which recommends items based on your size. Plus, they have in-house stylists to help you shop the site. As a plus size babe, this is especially important if I have fit questions when ordering online. AND, to top it off,  ...

Fatshion: Living that Crop Top Life

Hi friends! I’m so excited to share these amazing photos that one of my partners, Mayra Cortez, took of me. She’s this great photographer living in Los Angeles. She’s self-taught which is just so inspiring. Plus, I’m wearing a crop top which is challenging me to step out of the box with my fashion. Dia&Co challenged me to step out of my comfort zone. They’re a plus size clothing brand that’s all about confidence! I’ve always been fat but I’ve gained some weight recently which has led me to second-guess how I wear my clothes. Things that  ...

Fatshion: Black Eyelet Dress

Hello friends! Happy three-day weekend! I hope you’re all having a nice relaxing and fun weekend. I’ve had a good weekend myself but I’ll get into that in a bit. First, let me say that this is one of my favorite outfits that I’ve worn lately and that’s saying a lot! I wore this little black dress to my goddaughter’s first communion. My mom teased me by saying it looked like I was going to a funeral but hey, a girl’s gotta wear black sometimes. Don’t you agree? I found this gorgeous dress at H&M last month and was just waiting for the  ...

Fatshion: Gingham Dress

Hi babes! I’m having a lazy Saturday but by the time you read this, it will be Sunday. I’m working on a blog post all day on Sunday for a really exciting Mexican recipe. I will share it with you next month though. I know you’re going to love it. In the meantime, today I just bought ingredients for the recipe and now I’m writing this post. My Caturday has been chill, which is nice because it’s really hot in SoCal today. I’m watching Lord of the Rings: Return of the King today because I have this weird obsessive compulsive thing where I have to watch the  ...

Fatshion: Pink Floral Maxi Dress

Hi friends! How is your week going? My week was mellow but good. I’m making some changes to my class schedule so I have more free time on my hands now.  I wore this outfit last week to have dinner with my best friend and to hang out with a partner after. I love it! The dress is vintage and I got it at a thrift store for $1.50 and it fits perfectly. I love when you find that perfect score at a thrift store, it’s on sale, and it fits. Who could ask for more, really? Speaking of my best friend – we went out for dinner tonight too after buying my maid of honor dress for her  ...

Fatshion: Black Floral Midi Dress

This post contains affiliate links and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links. Hi friends! Happy full moon in Scorpio. What are you releasing? I am trying to release some of my depression, listlessness, and non-motivation. I want to shed that and become a more motivated and spiritually active person. As I get older (I’ll be 35 in a few months!), I am becoming more at peace with myself, who I am and who I want to be. I’m learning to not beat myself up so much and am trying to learn how to embrace my achievements. That’s a tough one for me  ...

Fatshion: Little Black Dress

This post contains affiliate links and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links. Hi friends! How are you all doing this week? My life changed big time in the last few weeks but I’ll tell you more about that in a bit. I wore this outfit to the Claremont Zine Fest and then afterwards, to dinner with my dear femme friend Jo (who took these photos). The zine fest was a lot of fun. I really enjoy “smaller” zine fests because they feel more communal and you get more of a chance to connect with the people buying your zines. I sold a lot, saw some  ...
