Fancy That No.7

I know I’m a day late with this week’s Fancy That but yesterday I spent all day at the Riverside DIY Print Fest. I had SUCH an amazing and inspiring time but I will tell you more about it later this week! Until then, enjoy these awesome things I’ve found lately. I know I’ve talked about my dream about living in a cabin in the forest but I forgot to mention that it has to be in the mountains. Preferably surrounded by wildflowers in the Spring. Or even better, if I could look outside and see a giant body of water like a lake. I am a total water baby at heart.  ...

Fancy That No.6

I swear my blog isn’t turning into only Fancy That posts! 😉 I had a super busy week between working full-time and having a midterm in the middle of the week for school. It’s been hectic trying to study, write papers, and find time to breathe! I have some fun things to share next week though so stay tuned. This is part of Jean-Baptiste Courtier’s synchronized swimming set. There’s something eerie and yet beautiful about the pale symmetrical legs against the lonely natural landscape that I really love. I really love books but I also really love art. This paper book  ...

Fancy That No.5

I know I normally post Fancy That on Saturdays but it’s been a busy week! I originally started posting these because I really love seeing regular “themed” posts on blogs and I really love finding new art or inspiring pictures. I’m also not a big fan of shopping wishlists because I feel like it supports a certain level of commercialism that I’m not comfortable with so posting a “themed” post about art just feels right. With that said, enjoy this week’s Fancy That! Don’t forget to scroll down to find out the winner for the Ilaments Sugar  ...

Fancy That No. 4

I’m attending the Latina Lifestyle Bloggers Conference this weekend and meeting lots of amazing and inspiring people. Not only that, it’s chock full of useful and helpful information. If you’re a Latina lifestyle blogger, I would definitely recommend checking out the collective! And now onto some recent tumblr loves! If I ever got a tattoo sleeve (or two) it would look something like this only it would probably have cats and/or bees involved, haha! For reals, how awesome is this illustration? If I ever seen a cat eating a snowcone, I might die of joy, which isn’t a  ...

Fancy That! No. 3

It’s been a slow week over here in terms of posts but be sure to stop by and check out the new site design! I’m really proud of it and I would love to hear what you think. Don’t forget to follow me on tumblr for more awesomeness! This adorable illustration is by Adrienne Adams from 1962! I love the curious look on the kitty’s face and that green is amazing! I think I originally saw this on my favorite Creepy board on Pinterest and fell in love with it. I know it’s macabre but I love the image of death plus those amazing moths in the background. Then again,  ...

Fancy That! No. 2

Fancy That! is a weekly post with some tumblr loves. Follow me on tumblr at rosescented to see more! There is something about this that is so serene to me. I love the bright colors and the mixture of art and music and nature. Craftiness I can get behind! I love how this can be interpreted in so many ways – like the feminine aligned with nature or the beauty of the female body. Just love love. There are no words for this. Simultaneous kitty bath times. I think my heart just melted a little. Or Latina or queer or a woman or an introvert or anything else that is looked at unfavorably.  ...

Fancy That! No. 1

I am starting a new weekly feature here on the blog called Fancy That! Saturdays where I share with you some of my Tumblr loves over the week. If you’d like to follow me on Tumblr, click here! Hasan Kale makes these tiny paintings of Istanbul on different objects. I just love this mixture of art and nature on this butterfly. I love everything about this – the colors, the moths, the cat (of course), and even the name – “Things that Ruin Yarn.” Perfection. Art in bloom. Gorgeous bright orange against the green. It’s perfect for spring! I love this photo  ...
