Fatshion: Birthday Looks

Hey friends! I’m now officially 35! I spent my birthday half in the desert and half in the mountains (all in one day) thanks to a trip to Palm Springs that I mentioned in this post. My friend and I took this aerial tram in Palm Springs that took you up like 6000 ft or something and dropped you off at this national park on top of a mountain. The actual tram ride was INTENSE (the floor rotated, which was weird and disorienting). I’m glad I experienced it but I’m not sure I would do it again. The national park was beautiful though – definitely worth it. This year has  ...

Fatshion: Gingham Dress

Hi babes! I’m having a lazy Saturday but by the time you read this, it will be Sunday. I’m working on a blog post all day on Sunday for a really exciting Mexican recipe. I will share it with you next month though. I know you’re going to love it. In the meantime, today I just bought ingredients for the recipe and now I’m writing this post. My Caturday has been chill, which is nice because it’s really hot in SoCal today. I’m watching Lord of the Rings: Return of the King today because I have this weird obsessive compulsive thing where I have to watch the  ...

Fatshion: Pink Floral Maxi Dress

Hi friends! How is your week going? My week was mellow but good. I’m making some changes to my class schedule so I have more free time on my hands now.  I wore this outfit last week to have dinner with my best friend and to hang out with a partner after. I love it! The dress is vintage and I got it at a thrift store for $1.50 and it fits perfectly. I love when you find that perfect score at a thrift store, it’s on sale, and it fits. Who could ask for more, really? Speaking of my best friend – we went out for dinner tonight too after buying my maid of honor dress for her  ...

Fatshion: Little Black Dress

This post contains affiliate links and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links. Hi friends! How are you all doing this week? My life changed big time in the last few weeks but I’ll tell you more about that in a bit. I wore this outfit to the Claremont Zine Fest and then afterwards, to dinner with my dear femme friend Jo (who took these photos). The zine fest was a lot of fun. I really enjoy “smaller” zine fests because they feel more communal and you get more of a chance to connect with the people buying your zines. I sold a lot, saw some  ...

Fatshion: Pink and Blue

Hi babes! It’s been a minute since I’ve done an outfit post, que no? I have a cute but simple one for you today. This is one of my favorite dresses ever – mostly because I love pink and blue together. Can you tell? I’m always going back and forth between pink and blue with my hair (and using purple as an in-between color). But so this dress, it’s super easy to wear, is perfect for summer, has the cutest skirt, and I got it at a thrift store. Woo! I’ve been doing really well lately. I had an issue with one of my medications recently – basically my  ...

Fatshion: Polka Dots and a New Tattoo

Hi friends! I’ve been a busy bee lately! I’m working on a bunch of writing projects right now including opening submissions for issue two of Hairy Femme Mother zine. Please consider submitting if you identify as a hairy queer femme, including hairy trans, genderfluid, gender non-conforming femmes, hairy black femmes, and hairy femmes of color. I’m also submitting writing to a few zines and working on an article about how to support people when they come out. Lots of writing going on lately! It feels good to be so vocal and I’m definitely feeling inspired. I think  ...

Fatshion: The Hat of My Dreams

Hey friends! I know it’s been a minute since I’ve done a fatshion post.  Thank you to everyone that entered the giveaway that Luna Inspirations and I held. Your love and support meant a lot to both me and Maggie. I am a big fan of supporting friends’ art, local artists, and people who you may not have heard about, especially people of color or queer folks (or both! yay intersectionality!). If you are one of those people, shoot me an email and let’s talk!  But ok, about this outfit. So weeks ago, I was at work and one of the customers left this rad gray fedora in  ...

Fatshion: Photoshoot at the Madonna Inn

Hi friends! So last month, my best friend and artist, Aria, my friend and beautifully talented femme, Jade, and I all went to Portland, OR together for a little road trip. The trip was beautiful for a lot of reasons but one of which was that on the way back, we splurged and stayed in the Crystal Room at the iconic Madonna Inn. We got the inspiration to have a mini photo shoot in the room so we stopped at a random gay-friendly thrift store on the way down where I scored this Dream Out Loud by Selena Gomez dress for $5! The dress is dreamy and gorgeous and I love it! Jade and I spent about  ...

Other Places I’ve Been Lately

Hi friends! I’ve been all over the internet lately! But before I tell you about that, I wanted to thank my friend, Ava Alamshah for the photo above. She’s taken photos of me for my blog before but this is one of my favorite photos of myself ever – it captures my style perfectly and showcases my femme sexuality as I touched up my lipstick. I’m crushin’ on myself here! Be sure to check out the rest of her photos – she’s an amazing photographer. In other news, I recently wrote up a piece for Stigma Fighters about my history of bulimia  ...
