Hello friends! Happy New Year! What are your resolutions for the new year? One of mine is to upgrade my vision choices with some new fashionable glasses from Zenni Optical. I’ve been a huge fan of Zenni for years and have bought many pairs of glasses from them! I love the new styles they are coming out with lately. They are affordable and fit seamlessly into my wardrobe. As someone who’s into style and fashion, this is important to me. Who wouldn’t want to extend their fashion through their glasses anyway? If you have to wear them (or even if you don’t), why not make them a statement piece?
I started wearing glasses when I was in sixth grade. Well, I should say I got my first pair of hideous prescription glasses in sixth grade and proceeded to not wear them until I got contacts in high school. I wore contacts all throughout high school but when I was in college, I wanted the ease and look of glasses. Back then, the only glasses were available through my optometrist so my options were limited. Now there are tons of places to get prescription eyewear but my favorite is still Zenni Optical. I think this pair is next on my wishlist! What’s your favorite pair?
Now that I’ve got my stylish eyewear squared away, some of my other New Year resolutions are to take more time for myself doing self-care activities, show up for work more often, and be open to love. 2016 taught me a lot about what I need and don’t need when it comes to those three things and I am determined to make the most of them in 2017. I spent way too much time sleeping and feeling hopeless last year despite some big changes in my life. This year will be different. I will use that time more creatively and more focused, more on things that will help me grow and keep me stable. I’m excited!
But back to this outfit, I put it together with a more casual New Year’s Party in mind. It’s still got a bit of sparkle and glam but also some edge to it. It’s classic me. I spent my New Year’s Eve with some femme loves talking about love and life. We ate yummy food and toasted to the new year. It was the perfect way to say goodbye to 2016 and welcome 2017. How did you celebrate New Year’s?
